About Us

Dakota Metal Works was founded by Myron Holzwarth. He has worked in the manufacturing industry for more than 30 years and has traveled to more than 20 Countries. In each of these countries his goal was to sell, train or set up heavy equipment for the people in these communities.

Dakota Metal Works has always had a driving desire to improve upon or create new innovative ideas. Safety, simplicity & durability were the primary objectives. A key factor in knowing if a piece of equipment is functioning properly, is by the sound it makes or shouldn't make. This is where the idea of the "Hitch Hugger" came about. Listening to the rumble of a trailer or a boat behind your vehicle should not sound like you are pulling a lumber wagon. Customers have commented on how much they appreciate the sound of silence due to the use of the "Hitch Hugger".
